Black Friday Deals From the Comfort of Your Own Home!

Black Friday is quickly approaching, and some people are crazy enough to camp out in parking lots for days to get a deal on a TV, or buy some Blu-rays for cheap. However, you can shop Black Friday deals right now without leaving your seat. Amazon has been running Black Friday deals all week. We’ve compiled some of the best deals they have on Home Theater items. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, most items have free 2 day shipping and no taxes, so consider that an extra 8% off. If we find any more deals we’ll Tweet them out, so follow @rodwilliams to get the best deals on home theater items.

Seeing the LG BD630 Blu-ray player up there for $67.99 from Amazon was tough, because I had just ordered it from Amazon on November 23 for $84. Amazon has a very unyielding stance on post-order price matching. As stated on their website:

"Post-Order Price Match Policy
With the exception of TVs, we do not offer post-order price matching when an item's price drops after you buy it. Our prices regularly change, and the price you paid when your order shipped was the lowest price we were able to offer at the time. We consistently offer competitive prices on everything we carry because we know low prices are very important to our customers."

What this means in practice: to get the lower price, the customer must initate a return on the $84 unit and place an order for the $67.99 unit. The customer has to pay return shipping and Amazon has to pay shipping on the 2nd unit (whether free shipping or Prime shipping). Makes no sense for Amazon or for the customer. Amazon should just honor the lower price with a refund or at least a store credit (cheaper for them than a cash refund and keeps the sales dollars captive).

Call me cheap but yes, I'm just stubborn enough to return the player and re-order it. Same thing happened to me with Amazon last year on a Panasonic Blu-ray player, where I ordered the player and then a week later there was a price drop plus a bundled Blu-ray of your choice.
